The Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts (MCA) is a nonprofit community arts school and affiliate program of Saint Mary's University of Minnesota Located in Winona, MN that has been inspiring, educating, and nurturing students of all ages through dance classes, music lessons, music lessons, art workshops, theatre camps ans more since 1973. Our programming is designed to provide physical and aesthetic benefits, heightened self-respect, discipline, and confidence.
MCA partners with local organizations to ensure that all Southeastern Minnesota residents have access to, can benefit from and can celebrate diversity through the arts. Partners and projects include adaptive dance classes with Home and Community Options (HCO), a Drama club that focuses on teaching lifeskills through theatre skills during Kids First aftershool program at the Maplewood Townhome development which is run by the Winona Housing and Redevelopment Authority and assorted activities with Project FINE a nonprofit organization that helps newcomers integrate into the community.
Additionally MCA's pre-professional dance troupe, The Dance Repertory Company (DRC) often uses dance to explore social issues and different perspectives in performances. DRC performances have included "abunDANCE, a woman's influence" and "Deeply Rooted Dance, Celebrating Our Connections."
