At the intersection of art and social impact, Halcyon Arts Lab is a nine-month fellowship which supports emerging artists with bold ideas of how art and creativity can be forces for social change. Socially-engaged artists across many disciplines can apply for the Washington DC-based residency program. During the nine months, artist fellows receive
• A dedicated studio to concentrate on independent learning and creative practice
• A competitive financial scholarship to support living and material costs
• Nine months of off-site residential accommodation (eligible for non-D.C. residents only)
• A curriculum of practical classes and talks from visiting artists and civic leaders
• Mentorship and critique from an experienced arts professional in the fellow’s field
• Mentorship of D.C. high school students to provide guidance, instruction and inspiration to the
next generation
• Opportunities to collaborate with fellow artists, social entrepreneurs and our program partner
organizations in Washington, D.C.
